1245m2 of Fielders ARAMAX® was used on a new hall at St James Primary School, Muswellbrook designed by Webber architects.

The Project

Webber Architects was approached by the Catholic Schools Office, with a clear brief for the development of a new hall at St James Primary School, Muswellbrook. The underlying principle of the project was to provide maximum amenity and environmental sensitivity, whilst maintaining a minimalist ‘local context’ approach. The design combined with the structural properties of Fielders ARAMAX® allowed for very large spans that lead to a reduction in steel framing.  The 'oversized' profile of ARAMAX® delivered a striking facade.

The Solution

St James Primary School, Muswellbrook was completed in late 2011. Fielders ARAMAX® made from ZINCALUME® steel was used for both the roof and wall cladding and delivered a stunning finish in keeping with the original brief.

ARAMAX® provided a functional, long-spanning steel solution that was mitred with the vertical wall facade to create a visually striking profile. The long spans allowed the building's steel frame to be uncomplicated, which helped to reduce cost and complexity in both detailing and construction.

The hall offers students a quality space that is inspired, practical and can be used comfortably in all conditions.
